Dimapur, September 14 (MExN): Celebrating ‘Hindi Divas’ the Rashtra Bhasha Hindi Training Institute, Padumpukhuri, Dimapur organized a grand program to mark the occasion.
Alemtemshi Jamir, Additional Chief Secretary & Development Commissioner, presiding at the program as chief guest inaugurated the Naga Script Council Office, located at the college premises.
During his speech, Jamir remarked that he could witness a lot of cross-cultural influences through the programme the institute students presented. He also marveled at the strength with which the institute has grown over the years. He also expressed his sincere belief that the institute will pave the way for many good things for people of Nagaland. “Over the years I have known a lot of youths who have been trained from this institute,” Jamir said. He also stated prediction that the institute may become the centre for many happening in Nagaland and in India as well.
On the issue of language, he felt that any kind of language only makes humans stronger and more powerful. He also felt that it creates a lot of employment opportunities. Opining on how important Hindi is going to be in the globalized world, he said that Hindi, as a language occupies a prominent place. Re-iterating this, he informed that one out of every five people speak Hindi. “We are witnessing an emerging global scenario, where a Hindi institute like RBHTI, will play a crucial role to take advantage of the potential which is emerging in the world” he said. He stated that with the depth with which the popularity of Hindi as a language is being developed, perhaps it could well be a language that could replace English.
The theme for the program was “Ek Hridai Ho Bharat Janani.” Earlier, the program started with opening by Samlam, while, invocation led by Rev. C. Alem Jamir. M. Piyongtemjen Jamir, Principal RBHTI presented the welcome address. Dance numbers were presented by students’ of the institute- Jelina, Moasenla, and Aien. Pratigya was read out by Rota and Chingli. Songs were presented by Joses and Sangti and drama by Yingloi. Vote of thanks was stated by Sanjay, faculty of the institute.
